At this moment there exists no easy way to change the preferences...

The only way to change things in the preferences is this: - Using phpMyAdmin :( - Patch the install data...

The dbsettings project seems to be a good replacement of the preferences. Don't know if we can use this in PyLucid Plugins...

A nice newforms editor implemented with: changeset:1544 with this i refactory the Preferences concept completely, see also: http://pylucid.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1165#1165
